Business Insurance Cost for Small Companies
Business insurance cost is quoted per policy, but it is driven by a handful of facts about the company: how many people work there, what industry it is in and how much coverage it buys. The calculators here work from those facts.

- Cyber Insurance Cost CalculatorEstimate cyber insurance cost for a small business by employees, industry and coverage limit, and compare premiums with what a claim costs.
- Small Business Health Insurance Cost CalculatorEstimate small business health insurance cost per employee by coverage tier and state, see who pays what, and check the small business tax credit.
Cyber insurance
Headcount is the clearest signal in cyber premiums, the industry can move them up or down by a factor of three, and the coverage limit changes them again, though not in proportion. The calculator also sets a year of coverage next to what a single incident costs. See the cyber insurance calculator.
Employee health insurance
Health premiums are set by the coverage tier, employee only, employee plus one or family, and by the state. The federal MEPS-IC survey found employers at firms with fewer than 50 workers paying roughly 79% of single and 68% of family premiums. Firms with fewer than 25 full-time equivalents may qualify for the IRS small business health care tax credit. See the small business health insurance calculator.
Reading business insurance cost quotes
Small business insurance cost varies by state and by the data a quote is built on. Modeled prices, survey averages and what customers actually pay can differ by half or more, so compare quotes for the same limit and deductible. Business insurance rates for cyber coverage have fallen for twelve quarters in a row, while health premiums rose 5% to 6% from 2024 to 2025.
